Steven Gerrard has accepted a one-match touchline ban for his comments following Rangers̢۪ defeat at Celtic.
Gerrard has been accused of misconduct for comments believed to be made to referee Bobby Madden following the match.
Celtic captain Scott Brown has also been charged for ‘not acting in the best interests of association football’.
Brown – who raised his arms in triumph in the direction of the Rangers fans immediately after the 2-1 victory – has been accused of breaching a rule which states players, coaches and officials should “act in the best interests of association football”.
Rule 77 also references “improper” behaviour and using “threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour” and carries a minimum two-match suspension for players.
Celtic later declared in a brief statement that they would “defend these charges vigorously”.
He was involved in a fracas with Alfredo Morelos, who subsequently was sent off for elbowing the Celtic man.
The Celtic captain and both clubs have until Wednesday to respond to their charges with hearings pencilled in for May 2 for all four cases.
Meanwhile Ryan Kent, who raised his hand at Brown later in the match had his two-match ban upheld by the Scottish Football Association.Â
