Gareth Bale could wear a Tottenham shirt again as Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane becomes desperate to get rid of him.
However, if the 29-year-old was to return to north London it would be as part of a £10million season-long loan.
According to The Sun, Real will take an offer where a club pays around £250,000-a-week for Bale’s wages – believed to be in excess of £600,000 – in addition to the £10m fee.
The idea of Spurs taking Bale permanently has been ruled out, while his pay packet will also prove to be an obstacle.
The player left Tottenham for Real in an £85m transfer in 2013 and, despite winning four Champions League trophies in his time there, he has been booed by his own fans.
Now it appears Zidane is doing everything he can to force him out.

Leaving Bale out of Real’s squad for the 3-1 defeat to Real Sociedad at the weekend, the manager said: “He’s fine physically. It’s very clear what I’ve done this weekend, we’ll see what I do next week and what happens next year.”
Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett still claims his player wants to stay and ‘see out’ his contract, which lasts until 2022, though accepts he may not be in Zidane’s plans for next season.
Real are understood to be interested in Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba, both of whom could cost at least £100m, with the former even claiming he has made a decision on his Chelsea future.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have been linked with Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon and Barcelona’s Andre Gomes, while Christian Eriksen’s future in north London is still undecided.
New Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has put Gareth Bale top of his transfer wishlist. Bale is set to leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with the Welshman frozen out of Zinedine Zidane's plans for next season. And according to reports in Spain, Conte has called on Inter chief executive Beppe Marotta to start laying the foundations for a move.
