Cesc Fabregas claims he was forced out of Chelsea by Maurizio Sarri favourite Jorginho.
The World Cup winner left Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window to join Ligue 1 strugglers Monaco and link up with former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry.
After almost five years, it seemed a tad harsh and the 31-year-old has opened up about his experience.
Speaking at a Monaco press conference, Fabregas said: “I was at Chelsea and I could have renewed my contract to stay there. A new coach came and he came with a player that, for him, was like his son.
“For me it was difficult to play every single game – this is what I want to do. I love football. When I played for Chelsea, I’m happy.
“[But] it was impossible to play every match – for whatever reason it was.â€
The Spaniard revealed he had the option to extend his contract with the Blues, but chose to leave west London for regular game time.
Jorginho followed Sarri from Napoli for £57million, but has struggled in his debut season in the Premier League after being targeted by opposition midfielders.
Suarez has played only 95 minutes of football in six substitute appearances since joining on loan from the Catalan giants - and has not featured since featuring against Manchester United in March. The 25-year-old arrived in North London with an option to buy for around £20million in the summer should boss Unai Emery have decided he wanted to
